What age group does the school cater to?
We accept students from ages 3 to 18.
Which curriculum does BCIS follow?
The kindergarten school follows the American Curriculum (Creative Curriculum). The Elementary School and High School follows the American Curriculum.
What is Advanced Placement (AP)?
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. The AP curriculum for each of the various subjects is created for the College Board by a panel of experts and college-level educators in that field of study. This is a direct stepping-stone to pre-university courses. Please contact us for more information about the AP Courses we offer.
How many students are there in each class?
This can vary from year to year but as a general guide, our maximum class size will not exceed 25 students.
Does the school have English as Foreign Language (EFL) program?
Yes. Our English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program is designed to enable learners who have had little or no exposure to the English Language to develop fluency and competence in English so they are able survive and thrive in a mainstream classroom.
Is the school fully accredited?
Yes. We are accredited by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Thailand, AdvancED Accreditation (AdvancED), USA, and North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), USA.

We are affiliated with the Korean Federation of Christian Schools (KFCS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). We are also a member of the International School Association of Thailand (ISAT) and Thailand International School Activities Conference (TISAC).

What test does the school use as an entrance exam?
At BCIS, we use various tests and evaluations to assess new applicants in order to determine proper placement of the student.

Preschool

We evaluate 8 different areas:

  • Visual Motor, Numbers, Concepts, Body Image, Language, Personal, Fine Motor, Gross Motor, More…

Grades 1 – 12

  • Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) Test, Oral Reading Evaluation, Achievement Test, Oral Interview, More…

When is the deadline for submitting an application?
There is no deadline for submitting an application, but we allocate seats on a first come, first serve basis.
Can a student enroll at the school after a school year starts (e.g. mid-term)?
Yes, this is possible after they have undergone the assessments required by the school. However, this situation is generally not recommended as it can be unsettling for the child.
Does the school provide Learning Support?
The school provides learning support for selected students who are diagnosed as needing such support. This support may be given within the mainstream class or, on occasion, students may be withdrawn for special lessons. All applicants are assessed to see how the school is able to effectively cater to students’ needs.
Does the school provide transportation for students to and from school?
Yes, a bus service is available. Please check with the school office for more details.
Is a School Uniform compulsory for all learners?
Yes. For more details, please check with the School Office or in the Parent/Student Handbook.
How and where do I purchase school uniforms?
School uniforms can be purchased at the School Shop.
What do students need to bring on the first day of school?
It is good to bring the usual lined paper, pen, pencil, book bag or backpack, but students are not required to bring supplies for their first day of school. Teachers will communicate on the first day what supplies are required through a classroom supply list.
How does my child get a locker?
Each high school student is assigned a locker. Students are responsible for the locker key and the general care and cleanliness of their lockers.

To obtain a locker:

Come to see the school office/homeroom teacher on the first day of school.

  • You will be assigned a locker and given a key. The locker number matches the number on the key.
  • The key is to be returned at the end of the year or upon withdrawal from the school. If keys are not returned at the end of the year or on the withdrawal date, the student will incur a fine. Please contact the School Office regarding locker fines.
  • If a student loses a key during the school year and needs a replacement they will incur a fine. A replacement key is available at the School Office.  Please contact the School Office regarding locker fines.
  • If a student forgets their key they will incur a fine. They may “borrow” (have the locker opened for them) from the School Office.  Please contact the School Office regarding locker fines.

How do I order and pay for lunches?
BCIS is happy to offer a quality hot lunch for students. A variety of Thai and western-style foods are offered as well as a daily salad bar. Lunch and snacks are included already in the General Fee for Preschool and Elementary. For Grades 7-12, lunch and snacks are not included but are available to be purchased on campus.

Please contact the School Office for prices and other details on how and where to pay for lunch and snacks.

What if I want to send a packed lunch for my child?
Students can also pack a lunch from home and eat with their friends in the food hall. The school does not provide storage space for lunches brought from home.
Will the school provide a student ID card?
BCIS will issue student ID cards at the beginning of the school year. Students may show this card at many places in Thailand to obtain discounts. Students are not obligated to return this card at the end of the school year; however, cards will expire at the end of the school term. Students who withdraw from BCIS must return the student ID card to the Registrar’s office. Students who lost their ID cards can obtain a replacement ID card at a cost. Please contact the School Office regarding replacement of an ID card.
Does the school have Club Activities?
There are various club activities offered which will vary according to demand. Activities will normally be held on Mondays through Fridays for approximately 1 hour after school.

Some of the club activities offered at Bangkok Christian International School are Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Praise and Worship Band, Performing Arts, Art Club, Reading Support and more.

What are the facilities offered at the school?
ICT facilities, football field, auditorium, elementary and high school libraries, food hall, science laboratories, art rooms, photography dark room, basketball court, and more.
What are the school hours?
Preschool: 7:35 AM – 12:30 PM

Grades 1 – 12: 7:35 AM – 3:00 PM

Does the school have dormitories for its students?
No, the school does not provide dormitories for its students.
